KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) remains an All-Stars winner, taking the trophy for six consecutive years, as one of the Best Performing Developers of 2022 during the StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards 2023 gala dinner.
It also won the most votes for the Readers’ Choice Awards Most Preferred Developer and Most Heart-Warming CSR Initiative at the StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards 2023 yesterday.
In addition, Mah Sing's M Vertica in Jalan Cheras and M Astra in Setapak were honoured at the awards ceremony, with M Vertica receiving the Landscape Development Award for Best Topography Composition (Excellence), and M Astra receiving the Skyline Award for Best High-Rise Residential Development (Merit).
The award ceremony which took place at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur was graced by the Deputy Local Government Development Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir. Mah Sing's top management and staff were present to receive and celebrate this momentous occasion.
“Through the winning of the most votes for two Readers' Choice Awards – Most Preferred Developer and Most Heart-Warming CSR Initiative, we have learnt that the public does see and will continue to see our efforts, hence we must continually work harder and strive higher.
“As for the recognitions received for our M Series developments, the awards are a testament to our unwavering commitment to building high-quality properties that are not only affordably priced but located in areas with great connectivity and amenities. Due to the positive market response, we will be launching more M Series in the near future to replicate our success,” said Mah Sing founder and group managing director, Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum.
The winning projects
Spanning an impressive 11.25 acres, M Vertica is an affordably priced luxury high-rise development situated in Cheras. Comprising five towers, it is a transit-adjacent development (TAD) project that sits approximately 500m from the MRT and LRT interchange.
“We understand the people’s wants and needs hence our 4.45-acre landscape and facilities podium built on top of M Vertica’s residential parking not only provides a panoramic view of the KL skyline but also facilities for residents of all ages. The podium offers a delightfully serene green living inside the city, surrounded by first-rate modern amenities, comfort and accessibility. Given its distinct, unadulterated ‘urban forest’ concept, it gives a genuine green refuge from the surrounding urban areas,” Mah Sing property subsidiaries chief executive officer Yeoh Chee Beng said.
M Astra is Mah Sing’s second development project in Setapak, sitting on five acres of land. It is a mixed-development project comprising two towers and retail shops.
“M Astra has a unique architectural and landscape design. The architectural design is inspired by incorporating the idea of courtyards to create a garden city living concept where it was meticulously positioned to allow privacy and configured to enable all units the view of Kuala Lumpur City Centre and mountains range, or the inner central courtyard.
“Meanwhile, the name Astra also means Star in Latin which inspired the landscape concept of the development. A massive star landscape design can be seen clearly in the middle of the development that provides residents various family activities including a multi-age playground, an amphitheatre, gathering space, urban farming and a BBQ area,” said Yeoh.
Mah Sing group chief executive officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang said, “We are honoured to be voted as the Most Preferred Developer by StarProperty’s readers. This shows that customers recognise us as their trusted developer and their confidence towards the products that we deliver.
“Mah Sing has a good track record where we never abandon any of our projects before. We will strive to understand the needs of our customers and continue to offer quality products that meet market demand, with more exciting new launches coming up in the second half of the year.”
Winning the Most Heart-Warming CSR Initiative Award is a testament to Mah Sing's ongoing commitment to making a difference in the community, Mah Sing strategic communications, corporate responsibility and sustainability head Lyanna Tew said.
"We are grateful that our CSR initiatives have been able to make positive impacts on the underserved community. Since its establishment in 2005, the Mah Sing Foundation (MSF) operates under three main pillars – education, health and well-being, and community development. In 2022, MSF has disbursed more than RM892,000 which benefited more than 24 schools and NGOs and positively impacted more than 10,000 individuals,” she said.
