KUALA LUMPUR: As a leading destination in healthcare and wellness hub, KL Wellness City will be planning a series of wellness and healthcare activities in its fledgling township.
The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. Yoga is all about calmness and peace. Begin a journey of healing and open yourself up to opportunities to revive your soul.
One of the first initiatives is encouraging yoga into the lifestyle of its employees and the public of the Bukit Jalil Community.
Offered free of charge, classes are slated on alternate Mondays and Tuesdays from 8pm to 9pm at the KL Wellness City sales gallery, located just across Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
KL Wellness City initiates and practises the wellness lifestyle from within the organisation, encouraging its staff to take part in this weekly activity. This initiative will prove valuable to those who wish to strike a good work-life balance.
The first preview class kicked off on May 9 with a total of 16 participants comprising KL Wellness City staff and Bukit Jalil residents. The next sessions have been set for May 30 and June 7.
“In line with our vision of building a healthy community, we started our very first class of yoga with our internal staff and public who are into yoga. You can join us too. This initiative was a success working alongside New York Yoga Wellness which is one of the yoga experts,” said KL Wellness City branding, sales and marketing executive director Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew.
To commemorate the start of the class, KL Wellness City is exploring an adventurous yoga trend called the Juice Yoga, which may be a new term for many. This is an interesting angle as you balance your juice glass, it symbolises work-life balance which KL Wellness City emphasises on. The weekly class is limited to 40 participants per session.
KL Wellness City managing director Datuk Dr Colin Lee, being an advocate in healthcare and wellness, is supportive of this initiative as yoga offers mental and physical benefits for people of all ages and has the potential in speeding up the healing process when recovering from an illness or surgery.
“I strongly believe that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. In these modern days where everyone is working hard towards having a better life, they tend to forget that you can’t buy health with wealth. We, at KL Wellness City, want our staff to realise that after work, activity is equally important to have a balanced life,” he said.
