Sheikh Azrul with a lucky draw winner at the launch of Joy Design Studio in Bangsar.

SHEIKH Azrul S.M Nasimuddin Kamal’s strong passion for architecture and interior design led him to set up Joy Design Studio’s first showroom in Setia Alam two years ago.

“Joy Design Studio showcases furniture designs that are catered to compact living space.

“The designs are inspired by Scandinavian accents with influences from the mid-century,” said architect Sheikh Azrul.

“We noticed that there was a strong demand for mid-century modern furniture, but not everyone can afford the price.

“So we decided to create designs that cater to this segment of the market,” he added.

To ensure the quality of Joy Design Studio products, Sheikh Azrul oversees the whole process from design to manufacturing.

His design and quality control team are fully involved in the selection of materials and fabrics.

The raw materials and fabrics are sourced from original manufacturers, without the involvement of middle men, which ensures that only essential raw materials are used to reduce wastage and minimise cost.

Following the positive response for the first showroom in Setia Alam, Sheikh Azrul has opened a second Joy Design Studio showroom in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar.

This is part of his expansion plan to reach out to his clients in different areas.

“We selected Bangsar to set up our second showroom because of its strategic location and to create greater awareness of the brand,” he said.
