KUALA LUMPUR: Despite the subdued sentiment in the property sector, I-Bhd has received many enquiries on its latest property project called King of the Hill, 8Kia Peng within Zone 1 of KL City Centre (KLCC) here.

“Since the launch two weeks ago, we have received plenty of calls and enquiries.

“Some people have told me they want to buy up to 50 units or in bulk,” executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said after the launch of the project’s sales gallery here yesterday.

The gallery is situated on the 12th floor of Menara Bangkok Bank in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

According to Lim, the company is expecting 70% of the buyers to be foreigners with deep pockets while the rest will be local professionals and upper-middle class buyers.

Marketing director Monica Ong said the company should be able to generate “very good sales” response in the next couple of weeks pursuant to the initial enquiries that had been received.

“8Kia Peng will probably see its contribution to the company’s results towards the end of this year.

“This development is targetted to complete by 2019 and we are very confident that we will be able to sell all of them by then,” Ong said adding that the entire project is internally funded.

“Property development will come in very strongly to the company starting from this year.

“Most of our developments have already reached an advanced construction stage and in terms of sales one or two projects have already been fully taken up,” she added.

She said the project was targeted at global property buyers, especially those wanting to buy properties with the best views of KLCC and the Petronas Twin Towers.

“With this in mind, 8Kia Peng is designed such that it offers a full view of the KLCC skyline, with 80% of the residences having a direct Petronas Twin Tower view,” Ong said.

Construction has started and it is on track with the piling work having already been completed.

8Kia Peng is a 50-storey freehold and Construction Quality Assessment System standard project with an indicative pricing of RM2,300 per sq ft.

Setiakon Builders Sdn Bhd is the the master contractor of this development.
