Gamuda Land is the leading developer of this 1,854-acre township sited in southern Shah Alam. The developer launched its earliest linked houses in Aranda and Oncidium precincts in August 1995 (partnering with DRB-Hicom Bhd) at the selling price of RM168,000 upwards.
Spillover demand from Subang USJ contributed to the growth of Kota Kemuning in its early years. The Chinese Taipei School (KL), a Taiwanese international school established in 1992, was also an attraction for families to relocate here.
The township mainly consists of landed properties including villas, bungalows, semi-Ds, terraced and linked houses. Among the few high-rise developments in Kota Kemuning are Lagoon Suites condo, The Lakes condo, Amber Residence and Amverton Greens.
Persiaran Anggerik Vanilla is the commercial hub and centre of Kota Kemuning, with mostly two to four-storey shop lots. Gamuda Walk, a neighbourhood mall opened in 2014, caters to the neighbourhood. Besides the residential and commercial components, the Kota Kemuning Industrial Park bordering Section 29 is equipped with factories and warehouses.
With two decades of development, the township is renowned as one of the preferred residential addresses for a healthy and harmonious living. About 45% of land in Kota Kemuning is allocated to nature-based recreational facilities, including the 22-acre central lake for the community to relax and unwind or the Kota Permai Golf Course and Bukit Kemuning Golf & Country Club.
Kota Kemuning residents have set up a Facebook community group to share announcements on events, safety and traffic reminders, and even recommendations for cleaner and plumber. The FB site has about 30,000 followers and is actively updated.
