DBKL launches book on proper procedures for developers, professional bodies and the public
DEVELOPMENT planning is now easier with Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) series of Planning Guideline books.
The 25-book compilation is meant to disseminate information to developers, professional bodies and the public on proper development procedures.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the books would make it easier for the public to know what to do and what not to do.
“All the requirements for different types of development are concisely listed and separated,” he said during the launch of the books at Menara DBKL yesterday.
Tengku Adnan said the city must also be planned properly to avoid traffic congestion, flash floods, dilapidated areas, squatters and other forms of pollution.
“City Hall has to also vet planning approval for developments to prevent any future problems in the city,” he said.
Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz said the guidelines were to ensure that those submitting development plans to DBKL would be accurate and updated.
“We will be periodically updating the information based on a need-to basis as well as any changes in planning policies,” he said.
Amin added that the English version of the book would be available in April. Each book will cost from RM12 to RM26.
The books can be purchased at DBKL’s Planning Unit, Level 10, Menara DBKL 1, Jalan Raja Laut.
