PETALING JAYA: Gamuda Land’s latest offering, the Bay Street commercial shops at Gamuda Cove, has experienced a 90% take-up after its launch last weekend.

Gamuda Cove general manager Brandon Yong said the shops' design to benefit its surrounding population proved to be a hit.

“There is strong demand for commercial units that are mindfully designed to cater to the nearby residential catchment; that also have good connectivity within and beyond the township. All of which made Bay Street an enticing investment for property investors,” he said.

Bay Street is located in the vicinity of Palma Sands and Maya Bay Residences with a combined total of 1500 units which are scheduled for handover this month and early 2024 respectively. The tourist e-tram, which is already up and running at Gamuda Cove, makes Bay Street accessible to residents from other residential components and visitors of Gamuda Cove’s attractions such as the SplashMania Waterpark and other future developments.

Expected to complete in 2026, Bay Street has a total of 47 units comprising two and three-storey retail shops with built-up sizes ranging from 3,300 sq ft to 7,557 sq ft. It is poised to serve a catchment of 100,000 Gamuda Cove residents and a projected annual visitors of 2mil to its various attractions including the SplashMania, Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands, Goosebumps Rope Course and the Cove Aerobar.

Further, Yong said proximity to a new toll-free link road to Cyberjaya will open up Bay Street to catchment beyond the township as well as KLIA, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya.

“Gamuda Cove will have direct access to Cyberjaya via a new toll-free link road. Reducing the commute between Gamuda Cove and Cyberjaya considerably to 2km, it is expected to be ready by 2025. Bay Street is planned to be only 300 metres away from this new link road,” he said.

With prices ranging from RM2mil to RM3.7mil, Bay Street shares the environmentally conscious design of Gamuda Cove, which has recently received the 5-diamond recognition for Low Carbon City Framework (LCCF) from the Ministry of Environment and Water. This would see the township taking various measures from urban planning, urban transport, energy, buildings, water and waste management in its carbon reduction strategies with a target to achieve a 45% overall reduction in carbon emission and encourage greener modes of transportation by having pedestrian-friendly walkways and bicycle lanes.

The township will also be undertaking a road upgrade to enhance a link road through Jalan Kampung Sri Cheeding to twentyfive7 at Kota Kemuning. This connectivity allows residents at Gamuda Cove to benefit from the amenities and services at twentyfive7, Kota Kemuning and the surrounding developments.
