GUA MUSANG: A family whose house was damaged in the December floods is now looking forward to moving into their new home after Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd handed over the keys. Nor Mashitah Zainal Abidin, 17, has been living in a makeshift canvas home for eight months with her two brothers and single parent mother.

“Our neighbours have been very helpful in assisting with what we need every day, and now we are grateful to have a new home, thanks to Roadcare,” she said.

Roadcare, a subsidiary of Protasco Bhd, through its managing director of maintenance and construction division Datuk Sri Muzaffar Syah Abd Rahman and Galas Assemblyman Abdul Aziz bin Yusoff, handed the keys to Mashitah in a brief ceremony at Kampung Kolam Mas here on Monday.

“We thank Protasco Roadcare for helping victims of the flood.

We are grateful that we are not forgotten in its rebuilding efforts,” said Abdul Aziz.

Muzaffar said Protasco and its group of companies was committed to the communities wherever it operates.

“After living without basic facilities since December, our new home which will be ready by the end of this month is God sent,” said Zulkifli Mohamad, a father with a five-year-old son.

All three houses in Kampung Kolam Mas will be completed by end of this month, in time for the Merdeka celebrations.

Roadcare have built six new homes in total for flood victims in Kelantan.

It had presented three new homes for Orang Asli in Kampung Teranik, an isolated settlement a four-hour drive outside of Kota Baru.
