LONDON: As with every sizable mixed development, one of the vital components is to enliven the livability and attraction of the project. This is one of the challenges for Battersea Power Station.
The completion of phase one in 2021 opened its doors to residents despite the hurdles brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. To enliven Battersea Power Station, the first tranche of cafés, bars and restaurants are set to open their doors inside the Grade II Listed Power Station from September 2022.
Visitors to this culinary hotspot for London will be able to enjoy a variety of British and international eateries with a number of branded food and beverage (F&B) outlets joining the Power Station line-up.
Complemented by the 14 cafés, bars and restaurants already opened in Circus West Village, including an authentic Malaysian restaurant, the F&B offerings will be located in the historic Turbine Halls and Boiler House.
“Housing one of our places in such an iconic, inspirational piece of architecture is a bit of a dream and we feel really lucky to be a part of the Battersea Power Station story,” said London-craft modern kebabs outlet Le Bab co-founder Stephen Tozer.
“We’re immensely proud to have been invited to join this titanic masterpiece and will add our bit by doing what we’re really good at,” added Where The Pancakes Are founder Patricia Trijbits.
In addition, a strong line-up of retailers including brands like Ray-Ban, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, MAC Cosmetics, Space NK and Jo Malone, are set to open their doors at the 100 retail stores available at Battersea Power Station next year.
“We are delivering something incredibly unique for the capital and are confident visitors to Battersea Power Station will be excited by the variety of cuisines that will be on offer. We have an exciting year ahead of us as we countdown to the Power Station opening,” said Battersea Power Station Development Company leasing head Sam Cotton.
Once completed in September 2022, Battersea Power Station will form the centrepiece of a new 15-minute live, work and play neighbourhood. It will act as a town centre for the immediate and wider local communities, a new business quarter for the capital and a leisure destination for Londoners and international visitors.
