PETALING JAYA: Ekovest Bhd has secured the RM79mil job to undertake the “Blue River Project” in the vicinity of the River of Life Precinct 7-Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur zone.
In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the civil engineering and construction company said its wholly-owned subsidiary, EkoRiver Construction Sdn Bhd (ERCSB), had yesterday received the letter of award from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) for the appointment of ERCSB as the design and build contractor to undertake the project.
“The total contract value for the project is RM79mil (excluding the goods and services tax) and the amount is inclusive of a five-year operations and maintenance period for the project,” Ekovest said.
It added that the 18-week project was to be completed before Aug 30, 2017.
“The appointment of ERCSB for the project is expected to contribute positively to the future revenue and earnings of Ekovest and its subsidiaries,” the group said.
Ekovest shares shed one sen to close at RM1.32 yesterday.
Last month, the group announced that ERCSB had received a letter of intent from DBKL, seeking to appoint the group as the design and build contractor for the proposed “Blue River Project”.
Ekovest has a 60% stake in the joint-venture company that was appointed in 2011 as the project delivery partner for the River of Life project by the government. Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd holds the remaining 40%.
