Ekovest launches EGAP with more than 50 young graduate participants.

KUALA LUMPUR: Young graduates should not waste the golden opportunity to learn and enhance their skills, and to gain more knowledge from the likes of graduate attachment programme, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said.

“The Graduate Attachment Programme will provide on the job training to young Malaysian graduates in various fields such as engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, accounting and finance. This programme will enable young graduates to settle quickly into the professional working environment, receive relevant skills development and get hands on experience.

“Initiatives like the Ekovest Graduate Attachment Programme can contribute to the country's progress in preparing a highly skilled workforce to guide and help young graduates to a more positive direction, with enhanced quality and dynamic enthusiasm and knowledge to be on par with the needs of the industry,” he said.

The minister officiated the launch of Ekovest Berhad Graduate Attachment Programme on Monday February 22, in conjunction with Ekovest’s Chinese New Year Open House Celebration.

Fadillah said that with an initial admittance of more than 50 young graduates on 2 February 2016, the programme will eventually be a platform for over 500 young graduates to become part of Ekovest’s workforce.

He further acknowledged that the correct approach was for the private sector to work together with the public sector to ensure that the young graduates could have a complete and holistic view of the industry.

“Ekovest Berhad will coordinate and work together with the authorities such as the Ministry of Works Malaysia, Highway Authority Malaysia and several ‘sub-contractors’ to conduct dialogue and mentoring sessions with the graduates.

“This will ensure that the graduates receive a holistic learning experience to increase their employability and career advancement,” he said in his speech.

“EGAP is a program in which the graduates in all fields of study are engaged and trained under the Ekovest Group. It appraises the graduates on their aptitude, task readiness and prepare them for the career ahead,” he said.
In the Chinese New Year celebration, the crowd was entertained with a special lion dance troupe, a 24 festive Drum Performance, and a traditional dance performance from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sentul 2 and SMK Menjalara.
