KUALA LUMPUR: Gamers will soon have reason to celebrate, with a video game theme park opening in town starring video game giant Ubisoft as its main attraction.
The French company – best known for its franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon and Rayman – will be partnering R. Segari Group (RSG) Sdn Bhd to bring its games from the computer out to a 10,000 sq m development.
RSG chairman Ramelle Ramli, whose company co-developed the Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) in Perak, said the indoor theme park would feature virtual reality gaming experiences, rides, attractions and shows.
“Ubisoft will be our anchor tenant, but we have other non-game brands also signed up,” said Ramelle.
“But the spirit is to have a blank page, so we can choose the best titles for this next-generation park,” he said.
Ramelle said the park was expected to start construction in 2017 and be completed by 2020.
