HOME ownership is a goal for many, but it involves more mental and monetary efforts than expected, making potential homebuyers hesitate to get on to the property ladder.

In the upcoming StarProperty.my Forum 2019 titled “Why Rent When You Can Own With Less Than RM400k”, Far Capital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Faizul Ridzuan will discuss why it is better to buy than to rent in today’s housing market.
As a property speaker and bestselling author, Faizul, who wrote WTF? 23 Properties by 30, opines home ownership affordability is more relevant to the buyer’s financial awareness rather than salary level.
“I’ve seen people earning RM4,000 a month but are still renting a place, while there are those who earn only RM1,400, yet are property owners,” said Faizul, adding that buying the right type of property is the key.
Taking the low-cost flat in Setapak as an example, he elaborated, “Do you know that the monthly rental for such a low-cost property can cost you between RM800 and RM1,000? The price range is almost sufficient for you to own a house.
“If you choose to rent, you will just be helping the landlord to enjoy a free house.”
During the talk, Faizul will share the property data since 2004 to explain the challenges in the current market and why 2019 is the best time for homebuyers to enter the market.
Besides that, the audience will also gain insights into the boosters that will propel property prices and the three criteria that make a property appealing.
