Tesco Malaysia, one of Malaysia’s leading retail chains, will be opening an outlet in the new IOI township of Bandar Puteri Bangi by first quarter of 2017. This is in cognisance of the tremendous growth potential of Bandar Puteri Bangi as an integrated mixed development that is set to revolutionise the way the residents live, work and play.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Tesco Bandar Puteri Bangi was officiated by representatives from both Tesco Malaysia and IOI Properties Group Bhd. The representatives are Tesco Malaysia operations director Ian Kent, Tesco Malaysia property and mall director Jason Chong, IOI Properties Group Bhd CEO Lee Yeow Seng and IOI Properties Group Bhd COO Teh Chin Guan.

Tesco Bandar Puteri Bangi will be the 56th Tesco store in Malaysia. It sits on a land area of 7.53 acres, and comes with a built-up area of 101,182sq ft. It will offer a wide range of 4,000 house brand products – 90% of which are sourced in Malaysia. They include Tesco Value, Choice and Finest, as well as specialist ranges such as a Lighter Choices.

Bandar Puteri Bangi, a 370-acre freehold lifestyle development, is master planned to be one of the biggest centres of business and economic activities within the Southern Corridor of Klang Valley covering Kajang, Bangi, Semenyih and Nilai.

IOI Properties Group Bhd will be launching Enigma Square which comprises 93 units of three- and four-storey shop office (22ft x 80ft). The three-storey shops are priced at RM1,558,000 with a built-up area of 5,280sq ft each, whereas the four-storey shops are priced at RM2,198,000 with a built up area of 7,040sq ft each. Enigma Square is just 500m from Tesco Bandar Puteri Bangi and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

The presence of Tesco and Enigma Square will serve as the catalyst in transforming Bandar Puteri Bangi into a new commercial pulse of Southern Kuala Lumpur Corridor.

Located next to the North-South Expressway (NSE), Bandar Puteri Bangi is strategically placed for booming growth, thanks to the emergence of Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and the vicinity around Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) as popular choices for residential and commercial developments.

Bandar Puteri Bangi is based on the concept of ‘the living theatre of nature and people’, whilst the landscape concept is called “The Streets of Dreams”, which offers a glimpse of the famous California Street, Tropical Street and Art Street; complemented by tree-lined boulevards, lush flora and spectacular landscape.

Bandar Puteri Bangi is also fast emerging as a genuine hotspot location due to the increasing demand for affordably priced properties by investors and house buyers.
