With over 70 entries for the StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards 2023, the run-up to the revealing of the winners is heating up after the judging session held recently.

Evaluated over two days by eight esteemed judges from diverse but interrelated disciplines in the real estate industry, this year saw a total of 31 property developers which submitted entries to compete for recognition in the 35 categories across residential, commercial and industrial types of projects.

Among them are IOI Properties Group Bhd, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd, OSK Property Holdings Bhd, Platinum Victory, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Tanah Makmur Bhd and many other prominent names.

The judges include Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector president Subramaniam Arumugam and honorary treasurer Choy Yue Kwong, Institution of Engineers Malaysia honorary treasurer Lee Yun Fook, Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia auditor Norliza Mohd Yusof, Malaysian Green Building Council council member Tamilsalvi Mari, Malaysian Institute of Architects deputy president Alice Leong Pek Lian, Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers president Ooi Boon Seong, Malaysian Institute of Planners president Datin Noraida Saludin and Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia councillor Khaidzir A Rasip.

Over two days from March 15 to 16, the participants presented their entries to the judges, who gave a score after deliberation based on the information submitted prior to the judging sessions and the onsite presentation and interview. 

KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms, tabulated and validated the scores. The winners will be announced at the Star Property Awards Gala Night in May.
