PETALING JAYA: SP Setia ended the week on a high note with a third award for the week, when the developer was announced as one of the Top 10 developers in Malaysia in the highly coveted BCI Asia Awards 2016. This came after the company was named a platinum winner at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award last Tuesday and Gold Winner in the Sustainable Development category at the international FIABCI Prix d’ Excellence Awards.

The annual BCI Asia Awards event, now in its 12th year, is held in seven Asian regions, including Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Beyond recognizing developers and architecture firms building and designing these greatest volume of buildings in the seven regional markets, BCI Asia Awards aims to encourage the creation of socially-responsible architecture.

“It is such a big honour for Setia. Three awards in a week across the spectrum of branding, sustainability and quality says a lot about the hard work and dedication that Team Setia has put in to ensure the brand lives up to its reputation of delivering quality and sustainability,” says Kow Choong Ming, executive vice president of SP Setia, who accepted the BCI Asia Top 10 Developers Awards at the prestigious award ceremony in JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur last night.

This is SP Setia’s sixth year in a row to be bestowed this award, with the first being in the year 2011. This prestigious label of excellence that recognises the ten leading property development companies that have made the greatest contribution to the built environment in the prior year. In recent years, the criteria has also been expanded to include a certain degree of sustainability in the developments.

The selection criteria now includes a new dimension where developers and architecture firms are selected based on the aggregate value of projects from the pre-tender stage (concept, design & documentation) to the post tender stage within the year, weighted by the extent of respective sustainability.

“At SP Setia, we have always been conscious about our developments being green and sustainable as much as we possibly can. Our eco-developments are a well-known brand in itself such as Setia Eco Park, Setia Eco Glades, Setia EcoHill and the recently launched Setia Eco Templer and to be recognized for our efforts is always wonderful. We will continue to stay true to our vision and remain innovative to deliver the best to our customers,” Kow added.

Some of the recent eco developments that Setia launched this year are Setia Eco Templer and Setia EcoHill 2, both of which are master-planned with respect to their individual natural topography.

The 194 acres Setia Eco Templer which was recently launched to overwhelming response with sold out units for its linked villas and bungalows attracted purchasers who appreciate lifestyle amidst serene and green natural environment, backed by two forest reserves and limestone
hills.

With additional landscaping and waterscapes provided by the developer, Setia Eco Templer’s natural beauty will be enhanced for residents.
The nature inspired master plan for Setia EcoHill 2, which will be launched next month with a gross development value (GDV) of RM5 billion, features eight iconic themed gardens, housing over 300 species of flora & fauna.

Promising the best of Highlands, Woodlands and Wetlands, Setia EcoHill 2 is inspired by the three key elements of nature, which are air, earth and water. This extremely green township preserves the natural undulating altitudes creating new recreational opportunities along the mountain slopes leading towards Bukit Tempurung, with more than 10,000 trees to be planted around the township. This township has reserved more than 80 acres of land for green parks while approximately 17 acres of parks is earmarked for the wetlands.

Aside from the two township developments, Setia promises not to disappoint with the upcoming launch of Isle of Palm and Setia Sky Ville in Penang, ViiA Residences at KL Eco City, Setia Sky Seputeh at Taman Seputeh, double-storey terrace homes at Bukit Indah as well as Setia Business Park II in Johor.
