PETALING JAYA: SkyWorld Development Group pledged its support to
International Women’s Day by sponsoring the largest Women Cycling Convoy in Malaysia.
“As a city developer, our mission is to transform the city, providing a better living environment to everyone – regardless of gender, race or age. We believe in equality and it is one of the keys to building a better world.
"We are proud to be a part of The Women Cycling Convoy 2017. Good to see more than 11,000 strong women partaking in this event and promoting a healthier lifestyle for women,” said SkyWorld founder and group managing director Datuk Ng Thien Phing in a statement.
The Women Cycling Convoy 2017 set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records as a cycling event with the most number of all-women participation.
The Convoy was held in conjunction with the International Women’s Day celebration and 11,412 women of all races and ages took part.
Held at the Dataran Putrajaya, the successful event was organised by Badan Amal Kasih Ibu.
Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Minister of Federal Territories flagged off the cycling event and the winners were presented with a medal by Badan Amal Kasih Ibu Chairman, Datin Seri Anggraini Sentiyaki, who is also the wife of Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
The event was also witnessed by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture Datuk Mas Ermiryati Samsudin.
