PETALING JAYA: LBS Bina Group Berhad managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San has been given a lifetime achievement award by the World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES) for his contribution in strengthening Malaysia’s ties with China.
Lim, who is also the president of the Malaysia-Guangdong Chamber of Investment Promotion, said he was honoured that his efforts to promote bilateral ties between the two countries were recognised.
The WCES is organised by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli).
Lim said a cultural museum, a one-stop centre and a Made-In-Malaysia Excellence exhibition hall would be established within the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) in Guangdong in order to form a closer bond between the two countries.
The cultural museum will showcase the heritage and culture of Malacca while the exhibition hall will promote products and services from Malaysia.
“This will further strengthen our tourism industry, as well as attract international companies to invest in Malaysia, bringing about a positive outlook for the country,” he said.
On Sept 21, LBS Bina had stepped up its business initiatives in China with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Zhuhai Jiuzhou Group Holdings Ltd.
Since 2002, LBS Bina has been successful in managing ZIC.
Lim had earlier received the BrandLaureate Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Brand ICON Leadership Award 2015 by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation.
He received the award for his outstanding entrepreneurship, leadership and achievements in the Malaysian property industry, as well as in overseas business.
