SAVVY homeowners today not only look at the functions of home appliances, but also put a lot of emphasis on the eco-friendly aspects.

Electrolux Home Appliances Sdn Bhd, which has been lauded for its wide range of home appliances, will be showcasing a myriad of electrical products that are fitted with environment-friendly and energy-saving features at the Perfect Livin ‘15 home-and-lifestyle exhibition.

Electrolux Home Appliances Sdn Bhd marketing manager (Malaysia/Singapore) Wendy Ho said homeowners these days were environmentally-conscious and constantly looking for energy-saving products.

“Aside from going green, homeowners also want to save money because of the escalating cost of living.

“The company has been supportive of green initiatives and offers products that are eco-friendly.

“It is a growing trend now compared to five years ago as customers frequently ask about eco-friendly features in the home appliances they are looking to buy,” said Ho in an interview at Electrolux’s showroom in Petaling Jaya.

Among the Electrolux products with eco-friendly features are the new R410A non-inverter series, heat pump dryer and Inspiration instant water heater series.

Its newly launched air-conditioner uses a new cooling gas that enables faster air cooling function, requiring lesser energy compared with a regular unit.

“Manufacturers are required to import the product with this new cooling gas, the R410 gas starting last year, which is friendlier towards the environment.

“The design of the air-conditioner is more compact but has a bigger surface cooling coil, which makes the air cool faster,” Ho explained.

Visitors can also check out the heat pump dryer which saves up to 50% energy.

Another highlight is their Inspiration water heater series that comes with a Perfect Temp and EcoShower technology.

The EcoShower helps homeowners save water by letting them monitor water consumption, while the Perfect Temp offers precise and easy control of the water temperature.

Visitors can also expect a wide range of kitchen hobs, hoods, washers and small appliances at the exhibition.

The first 1,000 registered visitors daily will receive original Perfect Livin reusable coffee cups in trendy colours.

The exhibition at Putra World Trade Centre starts today and ends on Nov 15.

Exhibition opening hours are 10am to 9pm. Admission is free.
