PETALING JAYA: When purchasing a residential property, many first-time home buyers fail to realise that they can rely on the asset for more than one purpose.
The main purpose is of course to have a roof above one’s head besides treating the property as an investment.
VKA Wealth Planners Sdn Bhd business development director Ang Chee Yong (pic) said there were many asset classes available for investors to choose from.
“Property investment provides medium to high returns. There are several factors to weigh in prior to investing in properties.
Licensed financial planner Ang Chee Yong to help forum attendees understand as to why one should consider property as part of ones investment portfolio.
“Aside from being able to leverage on the property and being an easy asset class to understand, property investors also have control over their assets and can generate good returns,” said Ang, a licensed financial planner.
Despite the uncertainty of the country’s economy, genuine buyers were still looking to purchase houses that provided good value for money, he said.
“Property investment is still very popular due to its versatility.”
Keen investors can choose to purchase raw land, commercial properties such as shops, offices, factories or warehouses at the upcoming StarProperty.my Forum 2016 fair.
“Commonly, investors opt for landed homes and high-rise developments mainly due to capital appreciation as well as high rental returns,” said Ang.
He will present the topic “Why you should consider property as part of your investment?” at the fair that will take place at i-Gallery within i-City in Shah Alam.
Those interested in improving their knowledge on property investment should attend the event that will feature prominent Malaysian property experts on June 18.
