REGISTRATION for the i-City’s i-Design Facade Design Competition workshop is now closed.
E-mails had gone out to every participant of the competition, offering them the chance to reserve a spot at a special workshop that will be held on Dec 12.
The workshop is planned for the competition participants to help them submit a feasible design.
The workshop will be run by facade consultant Dr Robert See, who will share his experience in designing a facade, fabrication, installation and costing of facade.
The competition challenges Malaysian undergraduates to come up with a creative and innovative facade design for an upcoming project in the Western part of i-City.
The project comprises seven tower blocks for residential and office use, two retail podium and six levels of carpark.
Design ideas should be based on the theme “Pulse of Selangor” and/or “City of Digital Lights” and must incorporate a Malaysian element.
Students of any field of study are welcomed to participate individually or as a team.
The winning idea for a large single LED facade will be placed in front of the multi-level carpark.
The participant or participants with the winning idea will also be able to be part of the process to transform the idea into reality.
Those who are well on the way to completing their ideas may want to bring it to the workshop as there will be a one-to-one consultation with See.
The session will take place after the event, with time slots fixed by the organising committee.
The workshop is an opportunity not to be missed for those who are looking to work with industry experts before even completing their tertiary studies.
It will be held in the ballroom on the Level 6, Best Western Hotel @ i-City, starting from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Participation in the workshop is free, with morning tea and lunch provided.
i-Berhad director Monica Ong said there had been many requests for extension on design submission deadline because of exam period.
A new deadline has been set for Dec 31.
