KUALA LUMPUR: Star Media Group Bhd presented its inaugural StarProperty.my Real Estate Awards 2017 in a glittery event, marking another significant moment in the company’s history and its belief that the property and construction sector is a dominant player in the overall economy of the country.
The event acknowledged the role played by the real estate agencies, its negotiators and the services provided.
Giving his speech at the event, Star Media Group group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai said: “It is our hope that shining the spotlight on the high calibre work within Malaysia’s real estate industry will propel others to continue developing their businesses and stimulate positive competition.”
He said the awards programme would also help to boost awareness on the important services rendered by agencies and their negotiators as well as the significant role of real estate and property markets on national and global economies.
“This inaugural and prestigious award is the brainchild of the dedicated team behind StarProperty and Propwall who believe that the real estate and property markets can have a huge bearing on economies worldwide,” said Wong.
The awards, he said, would help to further the professionalism, performance and development within the real estate industry.
The StarProperty.my Real Estate Awards 2017 are divided into three sections, namely, at the agency level, negotiator level and the outstanding personality within the sector.
At the agency level, awards were given for the All Star Agency, Rising Star Agency, Project Marketing Agency and Excellent Agency/Branch, and Regional Agency.
At the negotiator level, there were the All Star Negotiator, Rising Star Negotiator, Most Transacted award and Deal of the Year award. At the personality level, there were the Outstanding Agent award and the Influential Individual Awards.
Winners of the All Star Agency are Affirm Plus Properties Sdn Bhd, CBD Properties Sdn Bhd, Gplex Realty Sdn Bhd, IQI Realty Sdn Bhd, Megaharta Real Estate Sdn Bhd, Property Hub Sdn Bhd, Rina Properties Asia Sdn Bhd and Vivahomes Realty Sdn Bhd.
The judges included Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia president Datuk Ter Leong Yap and deputy secretary-general II Michael Chai, Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association past president Datuk Ng Seing Liong, author of property investment books Renesial Leong and StarProperty Sdn Bhd assistant general manager Ernest Towle.
The event was organised by Star Media Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary StarProperty Sdn Bhd. Its three main products are StarProperty.my, Propwall.my and iBilik.my.
