KUALA LUMPUR: Each year shoppers of prominent malls are treated to the beautiful and nostalgic decorations that come with the Christmas season.
For this jolly time of the year, each Sunway Mall is celebrating a unique Christmas Market from countries across Europe such as Finland, Germany, Austria, France and Poland.
For shoppers of Sunway Pyramid, this year they will be treated to an array of activities and shopping treats that are inspired by the Dresden Christmas Market, the oldest Christmas Market in Germany.
Also known as Striezelmarkt, family and friends will be transported to Altmarkt Square, where the market is located, surrounded by traditional German buildings and décor.
In the heart of the concourse sits a 36-feet tall traditional Christmas Pyramid, featuring a magnificent display of rotating German carved figures on each level.
“Christmas is a time of coming together and sharing happiness and warmth. This year, we are thrilled to reveal the German Christmas Market (in Sunway Pyramid). We hope our community will be charmed by the merriment of the unique Christmas Markets, inspired by one of the world’s must-see events during this festive season,” said Sunway Malls & Theme Parks CEO HC Chan.
To ensure authenticity of the German elements used in the concourse, the German Christmas Market was launched in collaboration with the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry who served as the official advisor for the event.
For this weekend, shoppers can revel in more German festivities with the German Christmas weekend event offering delicious German cuisine, shop for festive gifts and participate in exciting Christmas activities.
Shoppers can complete a special Christmas e-passport with five different activities including a Santa Ring Toss, Snowball Drop, Allianz Christmas Booth, Market Photo Booth and The Great Christmas Pyramid.
Completing a minimum of three out of the five activities will qualify shoppers for a reward, and one entry for a lucky draw to stand a chance to win exciting prizes.
Every weekend, Father Christmas himself will be there to liven up the festivities and meet shoppers from 1pm and 3pm. Shoppers will also be able to experience snow at the festive concourse from 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm. These special events will take place every Saturday and Sunday until Dec 25.
Try your hand at the various Christmas workshops but pre-registration is required as each workshop can accommodate a maximum of 30 persons per session.
To add even more cheer, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM400 (RM300 for Citibank Visa Credit Card Cardmembers) in two receipts can redeem an exclusive Sunway Malls Furoshiki gift wrap. This sustainable alternative to gift wrapping can be reused for other occasions.
Meanwhile, shoppers who spend RM800 (RM700 for Citibank Visa Credit Cardmembers) in three receipts can redeem a The Body Shop Christmas Gift Set.
