A revitalised river will once again be a prominent landmark as an ambitious project at Titiwangsa by Ekovest is underway to transform its land banks into a lively locale.

IN legends, there are mentions of the 'elixir of life', a mythical potion that supposedly grants the drinker the power of eternal life and/or eternal youth. Even though it is only a legend, there is however, something 'magical' that is taking place in our very own lands.
While it isn't the elixir of life, the River of Life (ROL) project is set to breathe new life into a historical confluence of two murky and polluted rivers. The Klang River, while one of Kuala Lumpur city's most prominent landmarks, has long since suffered from the rapid pace of development.
The RM4.4bil project is part of the Government's Economic Transformation Programme and is divided into three main components – river cleaning, river master-planning and beautification. Ekovest Bhd is one of the main players in the efforts for a massive cleanup and redevelopment of a 110km stretch of the river.
Believing that life in the river once more will allow for recreational use, as well as having the underutilised land banks transformed for commercial and residential use, is key. Stretching 3km in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a parcel of land will be rehabilitated and transformed into the KL River City.
Taking its cue from America's San Antonio Riverwalk and Seoul's Cheonggyecheon River, this is the group's concept masterplan that resembles a 'River Corridor'. It has been designed to open up a whole new world for business, leisure, shopping, living, hospitality, and wellness concepts.
Within the integrated development itself lies a few exciting phases to look forward to. EkoTitiwangsa is one of them, an impressive project that aims to seamlessly converge work and play. Sited on a 2.9-acre piece of freehold land, there are three towers standing tall at 36, 40 and 50-storeys respectively, which is the residential aspect.
EkoTitiwangsa houses a total of 696 contemporary chic units that offer quality living with inspired interiors that are full of natural light, while maintaining the importance of utmost comfort. The suites come in built-up sizes ranging from 820 sq ft to 1,340 sq ft, allowing for discerning homebuyers to select the type which matches their needs.
The array of luxurious amenities available cater to both residents and visitors, which includes commercial shops, security services, and wellness areas. Residents will be treated to breathtaking views of the EkoRiver Centre, Genting Highlands, Titiwangsa Lake and the gleaming Kuala Lumpur city centre.
With this project, the developer hopes to create a harmonious combination of an urban culture and a green sanctuary, all nestled within the embrace of a vibrant environment. There is also an elevated rooftop green sanctuary at EkoTitiwangsa that forms part of the EkoRiver Centre, awaiting those who wish to immerse themselves in the joys of a riverfront lifestyle.
The futuristic-looking EkoRiver Centre itself boasts a 600,000 sq ft retail component that is spread over six floors, with one of the mall's floors solely dedicated to a 190,000 sq ft convention centre. Set to be an iconic hub in its own right, it features a direct linkage to Taman Titiwangsa via an underpass.
The river promenade featured at this glittering modern hub will be made accessible to the public via the most unique way imaginable: water taxis. Imagine yourself gliding smoothly down the picturesque waterway, taking in the sights of the boardwalks teeming with people who are enjoying themselves with either the river tours or al fresco dining.
Right above the EkoRiver Centre will be a prominent 68-storey tower, marking the location of this magnificent building. It features corporate offices as well as a hotel with a total of 390 rooms, made up of both suites and VIP suites. Finally, at the roof top level of the mall, there will also be a public landscaped park, which can easily be accessed through designated escalators.
KL River City will also comprise other future phases in the overall development such as EkoGateway, EkoPark Place, EkoAvenue, and EkoQuay. Together, all of these phases will come together to form a comprehensive destination that will attract people from all over the region.
Here is where the magic of a revitalised river can be felt by people from all walks of life. The KL River City is an ambitious project that will bring a whole new level of exclusively stylish riverfront living to those who aspire to live near the city centre, yet safely enveloped in a cocoon of remarkable comfort.
