STARTING this month, developers and project consultants are now required to submit their plans to the Ipoh City Council (MBI) online, following the introduction of the new One Stop Centre (OSC) online system.
Ipoh mayor Datuk Zamri Man said this new system enabled the electronic submission of development proposal plans and technical agencies were able to review them online.
“The council started a test run for the online system in May and everything has been going smoothly.
“I believe that with this electronic system, we will be able to process the applications more quickly and efficiently with the cooperation of all parties involved,” he said at the launch of OSC Online System Workshop and OSC 3.0 Executive Discourse.
About 120 developers, consultants, architects and engineers attended the workshop, which aimed to provide a better understanding of the implementation methods involving the new OSC model and online system.
Zamri said he hoped the workshop participants would gain a better understanding of the procedures involved when it came to submitting their applications online.
“With this online system, it will be easier for people to deal with local authorities.
“Applications related to development proposals can be processed in a more professional, effective and efficient manner.
“This new system is also in line with our vision of building an electronic government, which is important in this modern era because it is safer and more customer-friendly,” he added.
Zamri also announced that the council would be using the OSC 3.0 model –- a faster, more streamlined development application than its predecessors.
In OSC 3.0, the processes are organised into six separate phases: data gathering, plan approval, notification to start work, interim inspection, final inspection and the issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).
OSC, an online service created by the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry in 2007, serves to simplify the development application processes by organising and distributing the requisite documents received from applicants to all relevant technical agencies.
