Buyers and investors explore housing opportunites in the StarProperty.my Awards 2016 showcase.

PETALING JAYA: Property developers have become more conscious of the need to incorporate environmentally-friendly designs and concepts into their project developments as seen in the rising number of such projects.

Besides contributing to uplifting the living environment, these projects have also set new benchmarks in the property market and improved the quality of life for the people.

Malaysian Institute of Geomancy Sciences (MINGS) president Professor Joe Choo said eco-friendly developments are those that adopt environmentally-friendly practices and sustainable standards to achieve optimum results.

“At MINGS, our principles are always based on the understanding of natural landforms with consideration of natural elements such as sunlight and weather,” added Choo, who was one of the judges at the recent inaugural StarProperty.my Awards 2016.

The awards event was held last Tuesday to recognise the best in the real estate industry for their developments that are sustainable and offer enhancement to the quality of life.

Developers who have won prestigious awards will showcase their projects at the concourse of The Curve shopping mall from today until Sunday.

There were a total of 10 award categories, with the All-Star Award Top Ranked Developers of the Year category being the star of the night.

The Earth Conscious Excellence awards were awarded to SP Setia Bhd for the SP Setia Corporate Headquarters and EcoWorld Group Bhd for its Eco Botanic. IOI Properties Group Bhd and Sime Darby Brunsfield Holding Sdn Bhd received the merit award for their PJ Midtown project.

The award winners who will be present at the showcase are IJM Land Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, Thriven Global Bhd, Titijaya Land Bhd, S P Setia, Eco World Development Group Bhd, Paramount Property, Sime Darby Property Bhd, UEM Sunrise Bhd, SkyWorld Development Sdn Bhd, Sunway Bhd and LBS Bina Group Bhd.

IJM Land, the premium partner of the StarProperty.my portal, will showcase its ­latest Bandar Rimbayu project which was the winner of the Family-Friendly Award (Best Family-centric Development).

The four-day property fair which started yesterday to Sunday is held from 10am to 10pm.

All homebuyers at the fair will stand a chance to win shopping vouchers, kitchen appliances and electronic vouchers worth more than RM25,000, while visitors who fill up a simple survey will stand to win lucky draw prizes.

Admission to the property showcase is free.
