KUALA LUMPUR: The property market will improve next year in view of the great interest from buyers and investors, although loan approvals may be an issue, said Mah Sing Group Bhd group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum.
“Mah Sing has received many bookings but we want to see a higher rate of loan approvals,” he said.
He said there could be challenges next year “but we will continue to deliver the right products to cater to the needs of the market”.
Founder of Singapore-based Consultancy Pte Ltd Khalil Adis said the property sector saw a marginal boost when foreign investors saw the falling ringgit as an opportune time to enter the market.
For example, he said Iskandar Malaysia saw some Singaporeans taking advantage of the exchange rate to buy properties there.
REI Group of Companies CEO Dr Daniele Gambero said: “As a foreigner, I do not look at the health of the property market. Instead, I look at the demand for properties and I can see that the demand in Malaysia is still good.
“Property buying is about researching for the right property in the right location at the right time.”
About 50 developers are participating in the StarProperty.my fair.
