PETALING JAYA: There is a new cultural and lifestyle venue in town, DA Square @ Damansara Avenue, which officially opened its doors to the public in a grand celebration on Dec 18.
Sitting within award-winning mixed-development super hub Damansara Avenue by TA Global, DA Square emphasises the true purpose of curated destinations by merging the developer’s community-focused vision with a range of offerings.
It integrates seven anchor tenants to offer two full floors of multi-faceted delights, spanning four key verticals namely retail, dining, arts and events.
The most widely anticipated attraction of DA Square @ Damansara Avenue is its very first Uniqlo standalone roadside store in Malaysia.
The one-of-a-kind retail concept is set to give the Bandar Sri Damansara community a unique opportunity to connect with the Japanese global apparel retailer on a deeper level.
Other like-minded brand partners that inhabit DA Square include Malaysians’ firm favourites, Starbucks and The Brew House. The former features a dedicated drive-thru lane – another first in Bandar Sri Damansara – with the aim to provide a convenient and contactless service to the community.
Fook Yin Lau, Victoria 25 and Mr Bento offers visitors a dynamic range of Asian culinary flavours while 7-Eleven promises an elevated in-store experience that offers more than just convenience.
Slated for January 2021, the flagship outlet will digress from 7-Eleven’s grab-and-go model to introduce a thematic concept in collaboration with Pepsi and Lays featuring interactive digital pathways, a finger pong table and insta-worthy neon fixtures, among others.
The grand opening was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, graced by Petaling Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Sayuthi Bakar and TA Global director Datin Alicia Tan Kuay Fong.
A double celebration, the audience also witnessed a prize-giving ceremony, in which the winner of the DA Square wall mural competition To Xue Yingg and her winning design was unveiled.
The competition held in October aimed to find a vibrant, engaging design for a feature wall within DA Square. It is also in alignment with TA Global’s initiative to incubate and celebrate local artists, offering them a platform to showcase their talents and creative expressions.
The new, interactive wall mural is one of the several arts-focused spots in DA Square, presenting the perfect photo backdrop for visitors.
“After a long anticipation, we are proud to launch this development. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our anchor tenants who have played a major part in turning this vision into reality,” said Tan.
Commenting on the core purpose of the new venue, she continued: “Our culture today is driven by consumer demand for individuality, the blossoming of foodie culture and a shift toward multi-use retail developments.
“Having been designed to be a hub for both community and conversation, it shall provide a reference for our commitment to creating a positive impact in the Bandar Sri Damansara community, as well as other communal offerings we are about to bring.”
