PETALING JAYA: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has secured a RM35.03mil (250.6 million bhat) contract to develop two blocks of eight-storey condominiums in Bangkok, Thailand.
The property and construction firm told the stock exchange yesterday that its unit Bina Puri Holdings (Thailand) Co Ltd (BP Thai) entered into an agreement with WNC Construction Co Ltd Joint Venture and developer Fine 22 Properties Company Ltd, and Ya Thai Chemicaql Co Ltd Joint Venture to undertake the project.
Slated for completion with 12 months, the project called “I’m Fine Condominium” located at Bangna-Trad Road in Bangkok will comprise 393 fully-furnished units of the two-blocks of condos.
Bina Puri has an unbuilt book order of RM1.5bil with the latest contract.
The project is expected to contribute positively to the company’s net assets and earnings for the financial year ending December 31, 2017. None of Bina Puri’s directors, major shareholders and/or persons connected with the company have any direct or indirect interest in the above project.
“We will continue to construct quality homes in Thailand and be among Malaysian contractors to actively bid for more projects here since we have been in Thailand since 2003,” executive director Datuk Matthew Tee said in a separate statement.
The “I’m fine condominium is located 20 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, 10 minutes to BTS Skytrain and International School and one hour drive to Pattaya, Chonburi. Other amenities, include a club house, swimming pool, green garden, CCTV and 24 hours security, and gymnasium.
Bina Puri first ventured into Thailand in December 2003 and was awarded the At-Grade Road Project by the New Bangkok International Airport Co. Ltd, which was successfully completed in July 2006.
In 2011, BP Thai completed 40,000 units of affordable housing projects for the National Housing Authority of Thailand and condominiums for private developments worth more than RM1.8bil at 16 locations in the suburb of Bangkok and nearby provinces.
