PETALING JAYA: Property developer Avaland Bhd has successfully completed the groundbreaking of The Island @Cybersouth, the latest project within the 417-acre Cybersouth, featuring a 37-acre waterbody and a central green space designed to promote well-being.
Avaland said 70% of The Island’s landscaping features climate-resilient, low-maintenance native plants and will be using energy-efficient lighting, rainwater harvesting and recycled materials. The project encourages well-being, with areas for recreation, relaxation and exploration. Residents and visitors can enjoy the vertical forests and Adventure and Nature Trail, which highlights biodiversity on The Island and serves as a model for sustainable outdoor experiences within urban settings. There will be tree conservation efforts to help deepen the community's connection to the local ecosystem. The Island also has the Sunset Deck and Observation Towers to provide peaceful spots for gathering and taking in stunning views, fostering a sense of tranquillity and shared experience.
Avaland chief operating officer Aw Sei Cheh said while the developer has embarked on its vision to create a nature-inspired living since the start of the Cybersouth township development in 2018, it has put in key infrastructures and upgrades to make it vibrant.
“Infrastructure upgrades, such as modernising the main access road and introducing promenades along the central spine, have strengthened connectivity throughout the neighbourhood. These improvements have seamlessly integrated the commercial hub, recreational island, key amenities and residential areas, cultivating a vibrant, interconnected community across 100 acres of placemaking excellence,” he explained.
Aw said Avaland will continue to roll out upcoming projects such as the first phase of the integrated Meria Development, followed by Avalon, a Balinese-inspired landed home development, later this year. Both projects have a combined GDV of RM670mil, bringing the total GDV of ongoing developments at Cybersouth to RM1.084bil.
