ISKANDAR PUTERI: Eco World Development Group Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) to provide accommodation to undergraduates within the 109.3ha Eco Botanic township project here.
Its president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah said under the MoU, the undergraduates were expected to move to the Eco Nest service apartments when work on the block is expected to be completed by this year.
Among the facilities available at the 35-storey apartment block include an indoor badminton court, gymnasium, swimming pool, gourmet kitchen, sky garden and WiFi connectivity.
“UoRM is the first university to collaborate with a developer in Iskandar Puteri and we at Eco World are honoured and excited to work with the university in providing an English inspired living style for the undergraduates,” he said in a speech at Eco Botanic here.
Chang said the township would benefit due to its close proximity with EduCity, an educational hub in Iskandar Malaysia, as well as the progress and development taking place within Iskandar Puteri.
He said the company was also excited to have the opportunity to extend its expertise to undergraduates from the university currently pursuing their studies in courses related to property.
“There will be various activities which will benefit them including visits to show galleries and villages,” he said.
UoRM provost Prof Tony Downes said the university, which opened in September 2015, has about 600 students.
