Binastra Group’s property arm, Binastra Land Sdn Bhd, has been quietly making a name for itself in the property development scene as a developer that keeps to its promise of “quality finishings from the start”. 

It has won a score of property awards since the group first ventured into property development in 2005, the latest of which was The Art of LifeAward (Best Lifestyle development) at the fourth iteration of the StarProperty.my Awards this year, for its upcoming Trion @ KL project located at the intersection of the busy Jalan Sungai Besi and Jalan Dua.

Trion @ KL also bagged it the Best Boutique Lifestyle Development award at the Property Insight Prestigious Developer Award (PIPDA) 2019, and the Highly Commended Award for Best Mid-End Condo/Apartment Development in the Klang Valley at the 6th annual PropertyGuru’s Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2019. 

Prior to its property development venture, Binastra was known as a construction group. Founded in 1979 as M/S Binastra Construction Sdn Bhd by Tan Nge, the Klang Valley-based group obtained a class ‘A’ construction licence just six years later in 1984. After growing from strength to strength, with over 160 construction projects throughout the country under its belt, it took the dive into developing properties and has not looked back since. 

Under Binastra Land, the group has developed projects ranging from luxurious landed residential properties to high-end condominiums, industrial buildings to shop offices. Among its more notable residential projects are the low-density Seri Titiwangsa Condominium at Jalan Titiwangsa; the exclusive town villas in Sri Kayangan near Bandar Utama; the gated-and-guarded enclave featuring semi-detached and town villas in The Park at Bukit Serdang and the modern service apartments of CitiZen 1 and 2 in Old Klang Road.

Its mixed-use development CyberSquare in Cyberjaya, which was completed in 2016 and features a unique blend of SOHO towers, shop offices and signature offices – all in a cohesive architectural master plan – also took home The Small is Big Award at the StarProperty.my Awards 2017. 

As its portfolio grows and its reputation expands, Binastra Land begins to position itself as a lifestyle developer. “Because we take pride in not just making a house, but a better home in which to begin life. From the finest details to the bigger picture, we look at crafting only the best,” said a Binastra Land spokesperson. 

The emphasis on crafting such developments has always been there, but just not clearly verbalised, the spokesperson said. “At Binastra Land, our motto of ‘quality finishings from the start’ does not just stop with our developments but extends right into the lifestyle and needs of each customer. Through every project and development, our sole objective is to build spaces that will enrich the lives of the community; be it a working environment, a comfortable home or a commercial venue,” the spokesperson added.

This steadfast adherence to its motto, to its positioning as a lifestyle developer, has steadily enabled Binastra Land to make a name for itself in the highly competitive property development space that is now filled with increasingly discerning buyers. And with the ease of communication today and the prevalent use of social media, a reputation is built by more than just repeating a motto or sticking the print-out on the wall -- one has to live up to it constantly.

This is clearly demonstrated in its latest development, Trion @ KL, a three-block serviced apartment that offers over 40 facilities spread out across four levels. Much thought has gone into the design to make this project a haven for the enjoyment of its residents. 

Beyond the relaxing green spaces on the ground floor, which is open to celebrations and relaxation, level eight is a recreation deck set amidst greenery, where residents can walk along the pretty wooden elevated walkway and relax in hanging basket seats. There is an amphitheatre, lagoon pool, poolside lounge, and sunken seat pods on water. There is also a poolside gym housed in a circular glass structure, which gives a gorgeous view of the pool and the surrounding landscape’s greenery. 

The relaxing, urban haven concept is not just on the lower floors. On levels 54 and 55, for example, there is a garden lounge and yoga Deck. A 310-metre jogging track has also been thoughtfully added, together with a kids’ play area. Further up on level 66, there is a party deck, a rooftop garden and a gym and lounge as well.

Comprising two blocks of 66 storeys and another 56 storeys in the third block, the structure is also set to be the highest building in the vicinity once it is completed in 2023. As the Kuala Lumpur City Hall has stopped approving developments that high after capping the population density for new housing developments in the city at 1,000 people per 0.4ha, this development will offer an unparalleled view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. 

Included in the vista will be Bandar Malaysia to the south, while the towering The Exchange 106 at the upcoming financial district of the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) will be visible to the north, together with PNB 118 and the iconic KLCC Twin Towers as well as the KL Tower. The developer has also maximised this strategic advantage with a rooftop lounge on the 66th floor.

On the third block of the development, a 235-room four-star hotel, Mercure Kuala Lumpur, will occupy levels 38-56, and residents can avail themselves to the hotel’s housekeeping, laundry pick-up and delivery, room service as well as event and catering services. There are separate lobbies for residents and hotel guests to ensure privacy for both.

Trion@KL is also highly accessible, as it is connected to six major roads and highways – Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Istana, Jalan Sungai Besi, Besraya Highway, the KL-Seremban Highway, and the Maju Expressway (MEX). The nearest LRT station just 1km or about 15 minute’s walk away at Chan Sow Lin, where an MRT station has been proposed.

Strategically close to busy business districts, Trion@KL is just 5km away from KLCC, 2.3km away from Bandar Malaysia, and 2.9km from TRX, with a myriad of retail options like Ikea Cheras (MyTown) and Sunway Velocity Mall, Viva Home and Pavilion KL all within a 5km radius. Not only that, the development is also near educational institutions such as Reliance College, Help College (1.2km), the SJK(C) Chung Kwo (1.3km), the international Alice Smith School (3.3km away) and Tsun Jin High School (3.6km).
