Paint is one of the easiest ways to add some of your personality onto the walls
If you’re bored with the colour on your walls, or if you’ve just repaired a wall and made it nice and smooth, you might want to paint it before trying out some of the more expensive and labour intensive architectural finishes such as plaster or tiles.
Colour
When choosing the colour of paint, you may want to consider the quality of light in your home in terms of whether you have a lot of natural or artificial light. Take paint samples home and look at them at various times during the day and night to test their effects.
Quantity
You wouldn't want to settle on a colour, get started with painting, and then find out too late that you're short of paint.
Consider the quantity of paint you need and ensure that the place you get them from has enough in store.
Measure and multiply the height and length of your walls together to get surface area, then divide that area by the coverage rate to figure out how much paint you need. You can find coverage rates at the back of most paint containers.
Texture
If you’ve chosen a colour you like and you’re now looking to make it unique, you could elevate your paintwork with some texture.
You don’t necessarily have to rely on a roller to put on a solid coat of a single hue, you could combine multiple shades in various ways, and with some household items, you could produce some breathtaking work.
