KUALA LUMPUR: Assets seen as “safe havens” are in demand now that there is a financial rollercoaster in view of the state of the global economy and foreign exchange rate.
Knight Frank head of commercial John Snow and Newmark Grubb Knight Frank president James D. Kuhn have spoken about investors’ expectations on what constituted an acceptable return.
Even though the property market this year is considered to have cooled down, real estate experts believe that this is “cyclical” and that the situation will pick up again as there will always be a demand for residential property.
Homebuyers and investors will thus be spoilt for choice at the StarProperty.my Fair that takes place at the KL Convention Centre.
It opens from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free.
The three-day event, which ends tomorrow, is held in collaboration with IJM Land and Ekovest Bhd.
One of the developers at the fair is Eco World, which has established itself as a forward-thinking builder of green developments in Malaysia.
It will be showcasing projects such as its first township development in the Klang Valley named Eco Majestic.
Some of its other properties to look forward to include Eco Grandeur, Bukit Bintang City Centre and Wardian London.
Binastra Land is another developer to look out for. It will be promoting CitiZen, which is located at Old Klang Road, and Green Residence in Cheras.
“Homebuyers and investors who have done their research will know that our company has a track record of delivering quality projects at affordable prices on or before the scheduled delivery date,” said Binastra Land project director Steven Ooi Hock Ang.

There will also be a property chat with celebrities such as Aishah Sinclair, Jason Godfrey and Vanessa Chong at 2pm today.
This is StarProperty.my’s first collaboration with Life Inspired.
Visitors to the fair would be able to redeem a free plant upon completion of survey forms on a first-come, first-served basis.
They will also stand a chance to win one of the 20 Spritzer Hot & Warm Mini Dispensers and other mystery gifts when they participate in the visitor survey contest.
As for homebuyers, prizes worth more than RM50,000 await them.
They comprise electrical and household items plus travel vouchers for a three-night stay in Constance Halaveli, the Maldives.
