SHAH ALAM: The ever sporting Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz momentarily held hands with “US President Donald Trump”.
This was during the launch of Red Carpet 2 – Malaysia’s first interactive wax museum – where the minister obliged pressmen with a photo opportunity.
Nazri had photographs of himself and a wax figure of Trump taken from several angles.
He also took the time to tour the new attraction, which features more than 100 wax figures of royalty like the late Princess Diana, heads of state and leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin, and pop stars Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
“Our ministry has consistently ensured a supportive environment for tourism and these efforts must also be driven by the private sector. Collaboration between tourism industry stakeholders is equally important in ensuring that the sector continues to thrive,” he said yesterday.
The launch was part of Leisure Park @ i-City’s expansion plan that included adding attractions such as the Red Carpet 2 Interactive Wax Museum to the company’s City of Digital Lights project.
Nazri also welcomed the planned completion of a number of projects under the i-City One Stop Tourism Hub before 2020.
He said the ministry had projected a positive growth in tourist arrivals because of several factors, such as the SEA Games, favourable exchange rates, growth in cruise tourism and the return of tourists from China.
