Plans to demolish the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel and Kompleks Antarabangsa are currently under discussion, to make way for a multi-billion-ringgit mixed commercial development. Tradewinds Corp Bhd (TCB) is currently in talks with several local and foreign investors with hopes that they will help to finance this project. Chairman Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Khas told Business Times that they are talking to potential developers both local and foreigners. He also hoped that TCB will be the major stakeholder in this joint venture. TCB has also obtained the development order to go ahead and come out with the detailed pans for the development. There are plans to build an office, retail and residential component to provide the group with recurring income. Net book value for Kompleks Antarabangsa as of December 2009 is RM159.83 million.
