Damai Citra is a cluster of two types of double storey terrace house in the coveted township of Alam Damai, Cheras. A project by I&P Group, an active Alam Impian property provider, Damai Citra was christened as Damai South, before DBKL's involvement for it to be called Damai Citra. Alam Damai has proven to be a popular township. Its proximity to Kuala Lumpur, the quality I&P Group has produced with the developments in the area, and the availability of several major highways have proved to be beneficial to Alam Damai in it being a lively residential area. I&P has developments in Bandar Kinrara, Alam Impian, Alam Sutera, Taman Pelangi Indah and many more. It is quite obvious why the residents of Alam Damai have been so confident with I&P.A car ride through Alam Damai gives several feelings to the area. Its roads are wide, the houses are nice-looking and the shops are busy and alive. It does feel like a proper residential area. Of course, that always produce traffic jams, and since Damai Citra is located in Alam Damai, its residents would have to bear the high number of cars during peak hours. But at the end of the day, the peace that Alam Damai can bring and its closeness to Kuala Lumpur city centre make this area either a fantastic investment or purchase. And it is more than worth to mention that Damai Citra is the last landed property for sale in Alam Damai. However, although Alam Damai proves to be excellent, there have been several issues being raised regarding Damai Citra itself. The fact that a PR1MA housing development will be built just next to Damai Citra had produced backlashes. PR1MA is an affordable property initiative by the government and of course that points to high-density development as they would want to accommodate a large number of people. Thus, that area will be a crowded area, as the PR1MA project will also bring a huge volume of traffic in the area. This adds to the uncomfortable closeness that Damai Citra and SMK Alam Damai have. Thought it would be convenient for the pupils, it is also a source of traffic jam and some noise pollution. Some people have stated their disappointment of I&P not doing anything to oppose the PR1MA project, as it was only announced after some of the properties have already been bought. So Damai Citra has its pros and cons. Maybe future MRT stations will restore the prestige that Damai Citra can offer, as it has been a bit tarnished with the PR1MA problem. All of these aspects need to be considered seriously before any decision is made.
