Shang Villa was a leasehold development like most residential properties in Kelana Jaya including Kelana Mahkota and Sterling. Its JMB however managed to change its tenure to freehold making it the only freehold high-rise residence in the vicinity. Even though it is already around 15 years old, it is still a much sought after property for many investors who prefer it than the latest residential such as Sterling and Kelana Sentral. Shang Villa condo was repainted in 2012 and the management stepped up with new security system (second upgrade since built), enhanced the landscaping (while it was well-maintained nonetheless) and even created extra car parks for rent. Block B was built later than Block A and bear comparatively improved sizing, spacing and finishing.A new LRT station is being built just within 500m walk from the condo and rental yield is picking up. Residents are a good mix of mostly locals with negligible segments of foreigners. This previously hidden gem of Shang Villa is becoming known of late to many young families who prefer this quiet yet highly accessible, strategic residence in Petaling Jaya area.
