The developers, Focal Aims Holdings has more than 30 years of experience with developing properties and aspires to be one of the leading developers in Malaysia. The group also has previous experience with developing townships most notable of which is the Saujana O-Lot located in Klang Valley which is a gated and guarded low density development with an emphasis on exclusivity, nature and an innovative lifestyle concept. The location of Kota Masai was previously an oil palm estate that was developed into this modern integrated township that we see today with more than 75,000 residents living within. Occupancy rate for the region is also upwards of 90%. The entire project's value is estimated to be at close to RM3 billion. The developer's company was also the target of a takeover attempt by EcoWorld in October 2013. It was not successful as the offer price was too low, at merely RM1.40 per share whereas it was trading at RM2.10 on the stock market. They were targeted presumable for their land banks located in the investing hotspot of Iskandar.
