    Analysis

    There have been complaints by the residents of Salak South Garden over the construction of 2 new shop houses situated at Jalan Hang Tuah 3. Jalan Hang Tuah 3 is one of the main entrance and with the construction of 2 new shop houses along that road will cause the already congested road to be even more jammed up. According to Salak South Garden Goodwill and Welfare Association secretary, Chow Heng Chong, commercial areas will be greatly affected as the 2 new shop houses will hinder traffic into the area. Residents are furious over the decision of DBKL to turn the already congested road into a one-way lane which they said, does not make sense at all.Apart from this issue, there have also been at least 5 cases of crimes involving car theft, snatch thieves and break-ins every month in the Salak South Garden area. Residents have urged for a patrol team to help prevent these crimes from rising but a previous attempt to build a voluntary patrol team has failed. There has been no cooperation amongst the residents there as there are no residents who are willing to take the lead.
