Houses in Taman Tambun are considered well kept as most units do not look too run down even though they are very old. Taman Tambun is a peaceful area to call home as there are no serious crimes happening around the neighborhood. Taman Tambun made headlines due to the finding of a World War II bomb which was still active and found in Sungai Pinji, Tambun. In March 2014, the local council has declared Taman Tambun one of the dengue hotspots within Ipoh. The local council swiftly proceeded to take measures to eradicate dengue, and the dengue cases have subsequently went down following the exercise.
