During the morning and evening rush hours, there is a constant traffic snarl at the Relau-Sungai Ara junction caused by the road bottleneck where drivers are cutting into each other's path as the road narrows considerably. The traffic coming down from Paya Terubong further contributes to the rush hour congestion. Outside of rush hour though, the traffic is considered moderate to somewhat heavy. The Relau-Sungai Ara junction gets congested at every rush hour; however since the installation of traffic lights, the congestion has somewhat been reduced but not totally eliminated.
